Maybe some of my followers mentioned: I'm a lover of soft focus lenses. On my last shooting with Emma (riel_life) I tested the Sekor C 150mm SF attached to my Mamiya RB67proSD.

It's definitely far better than the Pentax 67 120mm lens, which produces in my eyes only a blurred vision like out of focus.

The best lens so far IMHO is my large format Fujinon 180mm SF. The reason could be, that the aperture blade ("Siebblende") is placed between the front and rear element.

Some of my friends of the large format community know I'm collecting special types of lenses, esp. portraiture- and soft focus lenses. One more modern design lens is the Fujinon 180 SF, which is made for 4x5" format. It's similar to better known Imagon but not the same. The perforated aperture blades of the Fujinon SF are placed between front element and shutter.

On my last shooting with Halyna I tested it with my Linhof Master Technika.

Ilford FP4+, no postwork (only dust removing in PS). Small blade (red dot) at f=5,6.

Der Jahreswechsel ist vorbei und leider fühlt sich 2021 noch nicht viel anders an als 2020.

Die Corona-Impfungen lassen zwar Hoffnung aufkeimen, der Pandemie etwas entgegensetzen zu können, aber das wird alles Zeit brauchen.

Als Mediziner und Freizeitkünstler sitze ich da auch noch zwischen zwei Stühlen. Ich kann nur allen Kunstschaffenden wünschen, die mit Fotografie und Kunst ihr Brot verdienen, nicht durch allgemeine Frustration die Kreativität zu verlieren.

Oft haben schwierige Zeiten und die Auseinandersetzung mit der Realität das beste in der Kunst hervorgebracht!

Ich wünsche allen, die das hier lesen, noch ein gutes neues Jahr und viel Kraft.

Diese Woche habe ich endlich mein Plasticca-Objektiv auf eine sinar-Platte montiert. Grund genug mit einem meiner Stamm-Models ein spontanes Testshooting anzuberaumen (mit gebotenem Corona-Sicherheitsabstand, versteht sich).

Offiziell heißt das gute Stück: "Oscar Zwierzina Dresden Kunst-Portrait Objektiv Plasticca F:4 Serie B" und hat 400mm Brennweite. Es dürfte um 1925 sein. Es gibt keine Blendeneinstellung, denn es ist nur für Offenblende vorgesehen um einen besonderen Soft-Focus Effekt zu erzielen. Grundsätzlich ist das Objektiv damit für die "pictorial photography" gedacht, einen Stil, in dem Portraits einen weichen Effekt "wie gemalt" bekommen sollen. Die Schärfeebene ist sehr schmal und auch nur aufs Bildzentrum konzentriert. Außerhalb der Schärfeebene wirkt die Unschärfe auf mich wie mit dem Wischfinger-Werkzeug bie PS gemacht. In jedem Fall ist der Effekt ganz anders als bei einem Petzval.

Ein interessantes Stück Glas, mit dem ich sicher noch viel Spaß haben werde!

English: This week I mounted my Oscar Zwierzina Plasticca 400mm lens on a Sinar board and invited Fanie for a test shoot. I love the distinct sharpness in the focal plane around the center and the smooth falloff of sharpness to the corners. It has been made around 1925 and it has no stops. It's soft focus effect is made for "pictorial photography". I think I will have a lot of fun with this lens!
